The arts are alive and well at UNC Charlotte. You don’t have to leave campus to enjoy quality music, dance and theatre performances staged in some of the region’s premiere performing arts venues. Art galleries on campus house regular exhibitions. UNC Charlotte hosts internationally renowned speakers as well as lecture series that explore topics of local and national interest. Many events are free and open to the public.

UNC Charlotte has plenty of opportunities for you to get active. We offer a variety of sport clubs, intramurals, fitness programs, and special events ranging from competitive to recreational. Our facilities include a fitness center, aerobics studio, indoor climbing wall, swimming pool, and recreational courts free of charge for students. Our Fitness Program provides services and fitness classes for all interests and skill levels year round.
We provide affordable, confidential, on-campus health care for students through the Student Health Center. Our Counseling Center offers free and confidential counseling for students dealing with emotional, relationship, or personal concerns as well as workshops and consultations. A bevy of services are available to help you get healthy and stay healthy while you're in school.

If you are a resident or a commuter student, a faculty or staff member, or if you plan to visit campus, there are a variety of parking options and plans available. UNC Charlotte offers a variety of dining options, including cafeteria-style dining in several residence halls, the Library Café and the Fretwell Café, and the Student Union, which houses Crown Commons dining hall, Union Square, Starbucks Coffee, and Bistro 49. The Student Union also hosts retailers including Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte, The Campus Salon, NinerTech Computer Store, and others.
UNC Charlotte police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Officers are assigned to protect the campus in cars, on bicycles, and on foot. The Police and Public Safety team periodically offers self-defense and other safety courses to faculty, staff and students.
