The Department of Dance will present its spring concert Thursday, March 20, through Sunday, March 23, in the Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts, Belk Theater. Performances are at 7:30 PM, Thursday through Saturday, with a 2:00 PM matinee on Sunday.
The program will feature student ensembles in works of vintage jazz, contemporary and classical ballet and contemporary dance by faculty members Gretchen Alterowitz, Karen Hubbard, Sybil Huskey, Delia Neil and Melissa Pihos.
Tickets cost $14 for general admission; $9 for UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, and alumni; $9 for senior citizens; and $6 for all students. Click here to learn more and purchase tickets.
Tickets are on sale now for Capital Cities, performing live in concert in Halton Arena on April 13, with special guest Scavenger Hunt. Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, the Los Angeles duo of composers, initially met on Craigslist in 2008. Working as jingle writers, they formed the indie electro band Capital Cities in 2010. In 2011, they released their debut EP with the song "Safe and Sound," an upbeat mesh of synths and melody that spread like wildfire across the Internet.
