Spring Break 2009 Details on price and dates coming summer 2008.
Mission Project Popocatépetl is a snow-capped volcano that rises nearly 18,000 feet above sea level, about 65km outside of Mexico City. And this is the site of our spring break misión de popo. A woman who lives on the base of Popo named Julieta has big dreams. She sees firsthand everyday the grip poverty has on the locals. To combat this, Julieta is trying to build a children’s camp and organic farm. Here she can provide school, church, and a self-supporting Christian community. In March 2007, UCF established a relationship with Julieta and others in her village. UNC Charlotte students ran power grids during spring break and brought electricity in where it was needed badly. In 2008 we continued the good work. As the children grow, they will prosper under the leadership of people like Julieta and those who help her. You, too, can be part of this vision in 2009.
Sign-Up Will be up summer 2008.
Experience No experience is necessary! You can even learn valuable home repair and life skills as you help provide hands on labor to area churches, clinics and casas.
