Every week, on the main University Facebook page, we tell the UNC Charlotte story through information, events, photos, videos and countless opportunities to connect with Charlotte’s urban research university.
Recently, we've shared a story about an entrepreneurial student that was featured in the Charlotte Observer; helped spread the word, pictures and video from our first spring football game; featured an article about one of our alumni that leads the Union County School System; announced the first 49er Day at Carowinds; promoted a campus poetry reading; linked to the WFAE / Charlotte Talks show about the N.C. Science Festival; gave away some new t-shirts to students; posted about academic calendar dates students need to remember; helped spread the word about a lecture at the Levine Museum of the New South; and posted the Instagram Photo of the Week.
With over 27,000 followers, we are by far the largest social media higher education site in this part of North Carolina, and one of the largest Facebook sites overall in Charlotte. Every week, more than 140,000 people see our posts. They like them, comment on them, share them with their friends, and interact with us in ways that were never possible before.
