If you’re a new student to UNC Charlotte, whether you’re a freshman, transfer or adult student, you’ll be better prepared for success with SOAR.

SOAR is the Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration program. This program assists you with your transition to UNC Charlotte, and allows you to meet with an academic advisor and register for your fall semester classes. You will also learn important information about the University and all of the services in place to promote your success. SOAR is designed to prepare you for both your first semester and your subsequent years at UNC Charlotte. There’s nothing better you can do to make your time at UNC Charlotte a success.

SOAR sessions are offered all summer long so it’s easy to schedule. All you have to do is log in at soar.uncc.edu with your NinerNet credentials, and get started.

We’re committed to making sure students get the help and direction they need to be successful.

Associate Dean of Students

"SOAR is a great program for new students that helps them get a solid start at the University" says Associate Dean of Students Dr. Dennis Wiese. "The program covers not only orientation basics, but really focuses on academics. We’re committed to making sure students get the help and direction they need to be successful."

Every summer more than 5,000 students and 3,500 family members take advantage of SOAR and the numbers are growing.

"We have numerous Orientation Counselors to work with our students," says Wiese. "They do a great job because they’re familiar with the campus, and with systems, processes and academic requirements to help students become comfortable and functional quickly."

This year's Orientation Counselors provide some great tips for making the most of the SOAR experience.

See you on campus!
