UNC Charlotte's football team is off to a picture perfect start! In the first game, played August 31 in front of a very excited, capacity crowd of 16,630 fans, the 49ers beat Campbell University 52-7. Within seconds of the start of the game, linebacker Mark Hogan ignited the crowd with his interception return for a touchdown. On only the second play from scrimmage, it was the first touchdown in school history. It was an exciting, historic day for the University, the city, and the State of North Carolina!
This weekend, we face Chowan. The game will be carried on television locally by WCCB in Charlotte and there will also be viewing parties in many locations for students, fans and alumni.
