American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR)
AAMR's mission is to promote global development and dissemination of progressive policies, sound research, effective practices, and univeral human rights for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Arc Homepage
The Arc (formerly Association for Retarded Citizens of the United States) is the country's largest voluntary organization committed to the welfare of all children and adults with mental retardation and their families.

Consortium of Developmental Disabilities Councils
CDDC is a member-driven organization that is committed to representing the diverse interests of Developmental Disabilities Councils and the people with disabilities that Councils were created to serve.

Council for Exceptional Children
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Disabilities Studies Web Ring
This Web Ring was created to bring together websites that are related to the field of Disability Studies, which examines the history, perspectives, culture, literature, sociology and experience of people with disabilities.

Easter Seals 
Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 80 years. Whether helping someone improve physical mobility, return to work or simply gain greater independence for everyday living, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

Institute on Independent Living 
The Institute's purpose is to promote the opportunities of persons with disabilities to gain more personal and political power, self-determination, full participation and equality, both in Sweden and internationally through educational activities. These activities may consist of the production and dissemination of educational materials and information, planning and organizing of courses, seminars and study visits.

National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems (NAPAS)
NAPAS is a national voluntary membership organization for the federally mandated nationwide network of disability rights agencies, protection & advocacy systems (P&As), and client assistance programs (CAPs).

National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services, Inc.
This non-profit organization is devoted to expanding and improving public services to individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.

National Center for the Dissemination of Disability Research (NCDDR)
The NCDDR's purpose is to enhance the dissemination efforts of NIDRR-funded research projects and to increase the accessibility of research outcomes for the benefit of their consumers, particularly those from minority backgrounds.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities
NICHCY is the national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Our special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).

The National Home of Your Own Alliance  
The National Home of Your Own Alliance is a partnership between the Federal government and nationally recognized advocates and leaders whose goal is to create housing and support opportunities that people choose and control.

Protection and Advocacy Incorporated  
PAI works in partnership with people with disabilities - to protect, advocate for and advance their human, legal and service rights. "We strive toward a society that values all people and supports their rights to dignity, freedom, choice and quality of life."

Special Education Resources on the Internet (SERI) is a collection of Internet accessible information resources of interest to those involved in the fields related to Special Education. This collection exists in order to make on-line Special Education resources more easily and readily available in one location

TASH (formerly The Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps)
TASH is an international advocacy association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates, and people who work in the disability field. TASH believes that no one with a disability should be forced to live, work, or learn in a segregated setting; that all individuals deserve the right to direct their own lives. TASH 's mission is to eliminate physical and social obstacles that prevent equity, diversity, and quality of life.

World Institute on Disability (WID)
The World Institute on Disability is a non-profit public policy center dedicated to the promotion of independence and full inclusion in society of people with disabilities. Founded in 1983 by leaders of the Independent Living/Civil Rights Movement for people with disabilities, WID is committed to bringing policy into action
