New
faculty member
The department
is pleased to welcome Kent Brintnall,
who joins us as
assistant professor of religious studies. He teaches courses in
religion and visual culture, feminist and queer theory and
religion and sexuality. He holds a Ph.D. in religion and film
studies from Emory University and served as the inaugural
post-doctoral fellow in religion and sexuality at that
institution. His first book, Ecce Homo: The
Male-Body-in-Pain as Redemptive
Figure, is under contract with University of Chicago Press.

Two faculty members move to senior
positions
Congratulations
and our best wishes to Richard Cohen and Ann Burlein
who have been appointed to senior positions at universities in New
York. Dr. Cohen has moved to the University of Buffalo (SUNY)
where he is the director of
the Institute of Jewish Thought and
Heritage. He can be
