Welcome to the Niner Nation family! Parents and family members play a vital role in our students’ lives, and your support helps ensure their success at UNC Charlotte. Academics are the cornerstone of a UNC Charlotte education. Through programs that are responsive to the needs of the region and beyond, UNC Charlotte students gain the intellectual and professional skills that will prepare them for productive lives in a global, knowledge-based environment.
The Charlotte 49ers athletics teams compete on the NCAA Division I level and are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. 49ers athletics has a storied history and fields championship caliber teams in 14 sports. The 49ers football team will take the field in 2013.

Each student comes to the University with different financial needs. Our financial aid counselors help students and their families understand the many options available to finance a UNC Charlotte education. UNC Charlotte offers a variety of dining options, including cafeteria-style dining in several residence halls, the Library Café and the Fretwell Café, and the Student Union, with its food court, bistro and all-you-can-eat buffet. The Union also hosts retailers including Barnes & Noble Booksellers, a hair salon, and an Apple computer store, among others.
