Academic Affairs plans for and facilitates academic programs and services to help students and faculty achieve their academic and professional goals. In collaboration with faculty governance, Academic Affairs assesses academic programs and facilitates the establishment of new courses and degree programs. The Center for Teaching and Learning provides a one-stop shop for information and resources for faculty. The Center assists faculty by promoting teaching and learning excellence, supporting the integration of learning technologies, and encouraging scholarly teaching.

The Department of Human Resources provides services that range from employee recruitment and training efforts to the provision of medical and other benefits to all faculty and staff. Human resource professionals are trained to guide and counsel employees on a number of issues.
The Office of Institutional Research provides data about the University and its programs to internal and external constituents. IR responds to the needs of the offices of the Chancellor and the Provost and other academic areas including enrollment management, program evaluation, student outcomes assessment, and academic planning.
UNC Charlotte faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in any number of committees on campus. The Faculty Council, Staff Council and Graduate Council work to promote a fair, harmonious work environment at UNC Charlotte.
