is Professor of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I have a B.S. in Mathematics from Wright State University (1982) and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington (1993).

RESEARCH:

My research interests include mathematical sociology, the U.S. Supreme Court, social networks, development of actor models, small group processes, social power, and ethnicity and nationalism.

Saul Brenner and I have written a book (Cambridge, 2009) about Strategy on the United States Supreme Court (see here).
