Video Production and Channel 22

As a department within J. Murrey Atkins Library, the Video Production and Channel 22 Department provides video and television support services for UNC Charlotte in the following areas:

CHANNEL 22 - The department is responsible for operating and producing programming for the University’s cable channel, Channel 22 on the Time Warner and Adelphia cable systems reaching over 350,000 households in the Charlotte, NC area.

VIDEOCONFERENCING and DISTANCE EDUCATION - The department provides video conferencing and Distance Learning opportunities via the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NC-REN) and the North Carolina Information Highway (NCIH).  NC-REN and NCIH allow participants to videoconference with all major Universities and Community Colleges in North Carolina, as well as other universities and facilities across the nation.  This service is provided in two classroom-studios on campus:

SATELLITE RECEPTION - Satellite signal reception services are provided for education seminars and informational programs broadcast via satellite.  Satellite reception is available in two classroom-studios and can be integrated with NC-REN and NCIH.

UNIVERSITY VIDEO PRODUCTION - Utilizing the fully equipped television studio, two post-production suites, field production capabilities, and classroom-studios the department provides a full range of production and post-production services to University clients.  Some examples may be training videos, informational videos, taped lectures, promotional videos, and documentary videos.
