Other Organizations

Alumni Organization. The General Alumni Association of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is the official alumni organization. This body serves as the vehicle for exchange of ideas, services and resources between the alumni and the University community. Friends of UNC Charlotte. Friends of UNC Charlotte was established in 1968 to advance the relationship of the University within the community. The Friends allocate portions of their membership dues to special projects and student awards.

UNC Charlotte Foundation. The UNC Charlotte Foundation, a non-profit corporation, was founded in 1960 and has the mission of supporting the University and assisting it in the quest for excellence. To accomplish its goals, the Foundation encourages private support to provide for needs not met through state funds. AAUP. UNC Charlotte has a chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). Membership is voluntary and open to dues-paying faculty members.

State Employees Association of North Carolina, Inc. SEANC is a voluntary organization of state employees, including faculty members, that works to improve benefits for all state employees. The organization communicates with legislators and other governmental officials on behalf of state employees.

UNC Charlotte Women's Association. Membership in the UNC Charlotte Women's Association is open to staff and faculty women, and wives and partners of faculty and staff members. The association welcomes newcomers to UNC Charlotte and promotes social, cultural and intellectual activities. UNCCWA's financial support goes mainly to fund student scholarships and charitable organizations and events in the greater Charlotte region.

Athletic Foundation. The Athletic Foundation is a private non-profit foundation established to raise money for athletic scholarships.
