Outside Employment

It is assumed that faculty members are full-time employees of UNC Charlotte for the duration of their appointments. Therefore, University policy precludes a faculty member's having an additional full-time position elsewhere (academic or other). However, it is also assumed that because faculty members possess professional competence and expertise in their fields, they will and should be called upon by businesses, government agencies, other educational institutions and industries for formal consultation. Policies and procedures for consultation for pay are discussed in the Academic Regulations and Procedures section of this Handbook.
