Ethical
Conduct in Research and Scholarship
Faculty research and scholarship must be characterized by the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior. When research or scholarship has been plagiarized, falsified or otherwise misrepresented, the University will notify all affected parties and will conduct an investigation that may lead to dismissal. If there is reason to believe that a member of the faculty has engaged in misconduct, consult formally or informally with the department chair. The official University policy, Policy Statement #94, “Ethical Conduct in Research, Scholarship, and Educational Activities,” can be found at www.legal.uncc.edu/policies/ps-94.html.
