The Graduate School Announces the Annual Competition for the Herschel
and Cornelia Everett Foundation First-Year Graduate Fellowships
The Herschel and Cornelia Everett Foundation First-Year Graduate
Fellowships provide stipends of $15,000 and $10,000 plus tuition awards to one
newly admitted doctoral student and one newly admitted master’s student
respectively for their first year of study at UNC Charlotte. Each year during
the spring semester, the Graduate
School will award these
fellowships in an effort to recruit high quality graduate students into degree
programs at UNC Charlotte.
The following eligibility
requirements apply to these Fellowships:

Preference
will be given to U.S.
citizens who are classified as residents of North Carolina
or South Carolina.

Minimum 3.20 undergraduate cumulative grade point average.
·
Newly
admitted into a graduate degree program (master's or doctoral) at UNC Charlotte
and has not begun program of study (first-year student).
·
Must
enroll as a full time graduate student for the fall and spring semesters.
Prospective students cannot apply directly for this fellowship program but are nominated by the graduate
program to which they are applying. Any program may submit one
nomination for the doctoral and master’s award as appropriate. Nomination
materials should include a letter of nomination by the program coordinator or
director and a complete copy of the student's application to Graduate School, which should include
transcripts, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose or essay and any
other materials included with the degree application. All materials should be
sent to: The Everett Foundation First-Year Graduate Fellowship, The Graduate
School, 210 Cato Hall, no later than 5 pm March 28, 2008.
