from the Dean
I am delighted to welcome you to the web site for
graduate faculty and staff. As the importance of graduate
education increases at UNC Charlotte, the Graduate School will
continue to expand its programmatic initiatives. More than ever,
graduate faculty and staff need instant access to the most up-to-date
information available. This web site has been designed as a
communication tool to help you get your questions answered and as a
venue to the resources provided by the Graduate School and University
to support graduate education. We hope you will find the site
informative and user friendly. Since it will always be a
"work in progress", we welcome your comments
and suggestions.
Tom Reynolds, Ph.D.
Associate Provost for Graduate
Programs and Dean of the Graduate School
UNC Charlotte Electronic Theses and Dissertations Project
In the Fall 2004 semester, the Graduate School, ProQuest/UMI and the Atkins Library teamed up to pilot a project for the submission of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). The initial stage of the ETD program is completely voluntary and open to doctoral students in any discipline. Rather than submitting a dissertation to the Graduate School on 100% cotton paper, students now have the option of electronically submitting an Adobe Acrobat PDF file via a Web interface to satisfy all Graduate School requirements. If you are interested in learning more about this project, please access the UNC Charlotte ETD Project Web Site.
Special Promotion: Submit an ETD and Receive a Leather UNC Charlotte Portfolio
To encourage doctoral students to take advantage of the benefits of submitting a dissertation electronically, the Graduate School is giving a UNC Charlotte leather portfolio to each doctoral student who submits an ETD during the 2007-2008 academic year.
