The mission of the Office of Student Financial Aid
at UNC Charlotte is to educate, assist, and advise students and their
families in the financial aid process with the ultimate goals of
providing the best possible individual awards, quality customer service,
and effective financial planning.
Sounds great…but what exactly does that mean for
you?
First, it means that your financial aid awards will
be maximized to the fullest extent possible. Utilizing a variety of
federal, state and institutional funds still available at the time of
your application, our counseling staff will develop a comprehensive
package of assistance programs for which you may qualify. The earlier
you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each
year, the more funds may be available.
Second, it means that your
questions will be answered promptly by a professional caring staff.
Whether you call, e-mail or visit the office, you will receive the same
level of quality customer service afforded all families. Our goal is to
make the financial aid process as smooth as possible.
Finally, it means that we will do our best to take
your financial worries away. Your focus should be on completing your
education, not on how to afford one. Last year, we awarded over $100
million in financial aid to approximately 13,000 students. Our staff
will assist you in effective financial planning each year of your
university career.
Financial aid….let us guide you.
Sincerely,
Tony D. Carter, Director
Office of Student Financial Aid
