Critical Business Processes

 

Operations When the University is Closed

a.  Essential Personnel.  University Policy #13 addresses essential personnel.   A pandemic event is an unusual emergency in which any employee may be determined to be essential and called on to perform duties on campus.  Therefore it is quite likely that employees may be designated as Essential Employees at any time during the period of closure and be required to report to the campus, or to perform certain duties from home.

b. Critical Processes requiring continuous operation and presence of Essential Personnel:

  • Campus Security
  • Police Communications
  • Housing
  • Feeding
  • Utilities delivery
  • Core IT systems
  • Health Services

c. Processes requiring Essential Personnel to report to campus only as needed (on call):

  • Vivarium
  • Cell cultures
  • Counseling
  • Disability Services
  • Facilities Repair
  • Telecommunications
  • Deliver / Pickup Mail

d.  Processes that may be performed via telework from home (or other remote location):

  • Distance Instruction
