Students, faculty, staff and community
partners form a creative and interdisciplinary environment to conduct
applied scientific, technological, and policy research, and to pursue
its commercial development to benefit the region, state, and nation.
Some of the research projects in the past include: finding new ways to
reduce the rejection rate in liver transplants (Life Science and Engineering), the creation of tools and
techniques for high speed machining and developing technologies
for ultra precision mechanical measurement (industry and commerce),
and finding a solution to the rising costs of Medicaid by developing
a cost-effective packaging scheme for a local company (community).
