Admission Requirements:
An overall GPA of 2.5 for all college courses attempted in addition to university transfer requirements.
A 2.2 grade point average is required for admission into Engineering Technology.

University General Education Requirements that must be completed by all students.

Engineering Technology
Admission Requirements:
1. An earned Associate in Applied Science degree in one of the following fields: Architectural, Automation, Building,
    Construction, Computer, Controls, Design and Drafting, Electrical, Environmental, Optical, Electronics, Industrial,
    Instrumentation, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Robotics, or Surveying Technology
2. An overall GPA of at least 2.2 in all college courses attempted
3. Satisfactory completion of the prerequisite courses for the track which the student plans to enter.  These prerequisite courses are listed in the Engineering Technology section of the UNC Charlotte web site. 

Students may be admitted with deficiencies (prerequisite courses not completed) and will be expected to remove these deficiencies in their first year at UNC Charlotte.

Transfer Credit:
Admitted students receive a maximum of 64 semester hours for their course work completed in their Associate in Applied Science degree and will enroll as juniors in the program.

NOTE:  The Department of Engineering Technology (www.et.uncc.edu) has added freshman and sophomore courses to its existing upper division offerings in the BSET programs.  This allows freshman and sophomore admission to Engineering Technology for the first time, supplementing the existing “2+2” program with community colleges which admits students after completion of an associate degree.  Please see http://www.et.uncc.edu/ET%20Announcement.htm for more information.
