Application Distribution: Spybot v.1.3

Spybot v1.3 is an application that will scan your computer for adware and spyware. After it has run once, and corrected any problems, you should run Spybot every week or so, more often if you are a heavy Internet user. The SpyBot application icon is located in the Windows-Tools section of the Novell Application Launcher:

Close Internet Explorer before running Spybot.

Double click the SpyBot v1.3 icon in the Windows-Tools section of the Novell Application Launcher.

At the “Confirm Application Distribution” dialog box, click Yes to install the application. This will install the application and scan the computer for adware, etc. NOTE: This dialog box will only display the first time you run SpyBot.

At the “Legal Stuff” dialog box, click OK.

Spybot searches for adware and spyware on your system. Depending on what types of adware, spyware, etc. reside on your system, and how often you run Spybot, this could take a few minutes or more. If you feel it is taking too long, you can click Stop Check to stop the check, and run Spybot from the Windows Tools section of the Novell Application launcher at another time. While Spybot is running, you can use other applications such as Word, Outlook, etc. – but it is recommended that you do not open Internet Explorer while Spybot is running. In addition, I would recommend that you keep your application usage to a minimum when Spybot is running, so as not to slow it down.

Spybot will automatically fix any problems it finds. When it is done, it will indicate how many problems were found and corrected. Click OK.
