Three College of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty will be celebrated for their teaching excellence during an awards event on Monday, April 28 at 2:30 PM in Cone University Center 210.
The award winners are: Stanley Schneider, Biology, the inaugural recipient of the College’s Integration of Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award, which recognizes a tenure-track faculty member; Daniel Boisvert, Philosophy, recipient of the Full-time Lecturer Award for Teaching Excellence; and Rodney Stringfellow, Languages and Culture Studies, recipient of the Part-time Lecturer Award for Teaching Excellence.
"We invite the entire UNC Charlotte community, as well as the broader community, to join us as we hold up these faculty members for their teaching excellence," said Nancy Gutierrez, dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. "These faculty members bring creativity, dedication and energy to the classroom, benefiting our students, their colleagues and the University."
The UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) showcases research projects completed by undergraduate students of all levels from all colleges and departments in the University. This year, the conference will take place on Friday, April 25 in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
The work presented ranges from in-class projects to year-long honors theses and everything in between. The type of research varies depending on the discipline, and includes diverse topics such as philosophical analysis to hands-on data collection in a lab or in the field.
