Theatre Department to Present 'The Merry Wives'
The Department of Theatre will present "The Merry Wives" from Thursday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 2, in the Black Box Theater of the Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts.
Shakespeare’s hilarious and biting satire "The Merry Wives of Windsor" gets a new twist in this updated staging adapted by dramaturge Andrew Hartley, Robinson Distinguished Professor of Shakespeare. Lecturer Kelly Ryan will direct the production.
Performances on Oct. 23 - 25 and Oct. 29 - Nov. 1 will be at 7:30 PM. Sunday matinees on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 will be at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $14 general admission; $9 for seniors and UNC Charlotte faculty and staff; and $6 for all students and can be purchased through the Robinson Hall Box Office website.
"Nuggets of Knowledge" Presentation Set for Nov. 5
Steven Rogelberg, professor and director of UNC Charlotte’s Organizational Science program, will be the inaugural speaker for the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association’s Bonnie Cone Faculty Speaker Series "Nuggets of Knowledge."
Rogelberg will discuss "The Power of One’s Thoughts: A Look Inside the Executive Mind to Promote Effectiveness, Innovation and Well-Being," from noon to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, 222 S. Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte. Registration is $10 for this public event and includes the presentation and lunch.
Designated by the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees as the first "University Professor" for distinguished national, international and interdisciplinary contributions, Rogelberg has authored more than 80 publications that address issues such as team effectiveness, leadership, engagement, health and employee well-being, meetings at work and organizational research methods. He is the editor of the Journal of Business and Psychology and the "Talent Management Essentials" book series.
