Three College of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty will be celebrated for their teaching excellence during an awards event on Monday, April 28 at 2:30 PM in Cone University Center 210.
The award winners are: Stanley Schneider, Biology, the inaugural recipient of the College’s Integration of Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award, which recognizes a tenure-track faculty member; Daniel Boisvert, Philosophy, recipient of the Full-time Lecturer Award for Teaching Excellence; and Rodney Stringfellow, Languages and Culture Studies, recipient of the Part-time Lecturer Award for Teaching Excellence.
"We invite the entire UNC Charlotte community, as well as the broader community, to join us as we hold up these faculty members for their teaching excellence," said Nancy Gutierrez, dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. "These faculty members bring creativity, dedication and energy to the classroom, benefiting our students, their colleagues and the University."
Celebrating student success was the focus of an awards ceremony held recently in the offices of the Honors College.
Malin Pereira, executive director of the Honors College, congratulated the recipients, whose "work went beyond their current obligations and connote excellence, high achievement and evidence of potential only beginning to be fulfilled." She also expressed her appreciation to honors faculty, scholarship committee members, program directors and mentors for their contributions in support of their students and the University.
