The Charlotte 49ers athletics teams compete on the NCAA Division I level and are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference, fielding championship caliber teams in 14 sports. The 49ers football team will take the field in 2013; all sports will then join Conference USA.

Tickets are on sale now for Capital Cities, performing live in concert in Halton Arena on April 13, with special guest Scavenger Hunt. Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, the Los Angeles duo of composers, initially met on Craigslist in 2008. Working as jingle writers, they formed the indie electro band Capital Cities in 2010. In 2011, they released their debut EP with the song "Safe and Sound," an upbeat mesh of synths and melody that spread like wildfire across the Internet.
